Trask & Parady Numismatics

Owners:  Frank Trask  and Ingrid Parady

We started in business on a part time basis in 1977.  At the time Frank was working at Sylvania in Exeter, New Hampshire and Ingrid was working at a small coin shop, also, in New Hampshire.  We began by doing shows all over New England and then opened our first store, Kennebunk Coin and Currency, in March of 1980.  This store was closed in 1987 when we moved to East Vassalboro, Maine.  When we moved to E. Vassalboro, we changed the business name to China Lake Coins and Currency. At the same time, we decided we didn't want to be tied down to a full time store so decided to put more time and effort into a full time mail order business.  This changed again in 1997, when we bought a building in downtown Hallowell (map), Maine.  Hallowell is a wonderful small historic city on the banks of the Kennebec River with lots of character.  Hallowell boasts several antiques shops, many interesting specialty shops and several first class restaurants.  We love Hallowell and plan to stay until it's time for retirement.

Our Mission
We have always tried to stock our store with the collector in mind.  Whether you are trying to complete a series of Mercury Dimes or Franklin Halves or Indian Head Pennies, etc., we will have most if not all the dates in the series in many different grades.  Also, we always have a selection of higher grade coins for collectors and investors.  While we specialize in Maine paper money, we have a large selection of type notes, confederate and small size notes.

We have 30 years of experience buying and selling coins and paper money.  Complete appraisal services.  No collection is too big or too small.
